In total, there are literally hundreds of nursing schools in New York State for the aspiring Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, BSN, MSN or PhD to choose from. When it comes to the important matter of program accreditation with the NYSED (New York State board of Education), however, this number drops considerably. Regardless which of the accredited nursing schools in New York State under consideration, however, the program applicant can rest assured that accreditation indicates that, upon completion of required coursework, he or she will be eligible to sit for the NCLEX nursing exam.
